Just curious, does this forum have any ability to capture summary user statistics?

It might be interesting to learn the user totals for things like:
- number of users by country
- number of users by gender
- number of users by age bracket

I was just thinking "I wonder how many of these OF users are in other countries?".

In order to do this, some data fields may need to be added to the user profile to calculate these statistics.
Maybe give an option for "I'd rather not say" for every profile question and report that total along with the other data.

For age, maybe just entering the decade of one's birth would be good enough for the age bracket calculation.

Do you think this would be worth doing?

We've got a Google map somewhere that shows where we are.

Can't find it though.

Anyone? Anyone?

Hmmm, the age and gender info would not interest me, and I would prefer that anything like that would be fully optional. I'm not sure what the point of the data would be; if you hang around here for a while while I think you would already have developed a good sense anyway.

I agree, some people would not want to supply the data.
That is why I offered the "I'd rather not say" option to every profile question.

That's it.

Still works fine for me.
You’re right, works for me too (I had to force it to open in browser rather than the Google maps App on my iPad)

Its about 37% US, the rest is all around the world with Hong Kong, Singapore, London and New York being the biggest cities represented.

Its 99% male which I'd like to change a bit as there are some great ladies watches out there and unisex pieces like vintage Constellations and Seamasters

Age bracket is quite evenly spread with a lump around the 30s to 40s bracket, but also strong representation in 20s, its a younger population than most people expect.

How do you get the gender and age stats? Is it self-reporting only?

Google analytics gives rough demographics its not super accurate on a person by person basis but the law of large numbers means it tends to be accurate enough overall
