So something interesting happened to me today. I finally came home from a long night of partying last night. I started taking pictures of some of my watches. Then I decided I wanted to get something to eat and went to my closet to pull out a shirt. When I pull the shirt what do I find. A 1974 speedmaster in good condition. I started laughing so loud. Completely forgot I had that watch. I bought that watch couple months ago. This shirt I don’t wear that much. But funny enough I get this surprise. Here is the 74 speedy. Here is my closet find for the year. Has this happened to anyone else. Lol.

 

If you think that was a surprise, wait until you remember your wife...

I had a similar event happen to me about 30 years ago. I was at an event, wearing my 1930 Rolex Prince Observatory duo-dial, when I stashed it in my camera bag for safe keeping! Forgot about it. Some months later, I wanted to wear it, but couldn’t find it! I stewed about for over a year, until one day, I was rummaging around in my camera gadget bag, looking for something. The watch surfaced. What a relief.

 

I found a sandwich and banana I packed for lunch about a month ago in my work van. Well, my nose found it.

 

Lol. Tell me about it. Have too many watches. Lol.

 

Good thing is. We both found the watches. To me it’s a score. Almost like I just got a watch that I got for free. Completely forgot about this one. Lol.

I've had this happen, though not quite in a closet...

1) I used to just have one Tissot quartz watch as my collection. One day it disappeared and I ended up buying a G-Shock. A year later I was cleaning the side of my bed and found the Tissot had nestled itself between the mattress and wall...

2) A while later I also misplaced my G-Shock, only to find it a few months after moving house in one of my lunch boxes...

 

Hopefully one day I will be able to tell a similar story about my Leica M7 camera because I can’t find it for the life of me. I have moved a couple of times since I last seen it, so hopefully it’s since in an unpacked box.

 

Just reminded me... there's a freshly serviced F300 in my computer case.
(How do I not have a spare 19mm strap or even a bleedin' nato?)

 

Run to your closet and check through your shirt pockets!

One would have to be partying pretty hard to put a Speedmaster watch head in his shirt pocket and then hang it up without noticing that extra weight!

 

Lucky your washing machine didn't find it first. Then the thump thump in the dryer....
