I had my Alaska Project before it rose up in price. It was a "grail" of mine to own a white dial Speedmaster so I wear it regularly since I bought it 5 years ago. I do wear it in the snow with the red case too, it's so fun! It hasn't really ruined it for me. I actually like to wear it because I know there are people out there who don't dare to wear it and I never seen another Alaska Project at any gathering I have been to. Makes me happy to see other people look at it and handle it because they haven't seen it before.

My answer is “no” to the question. Watches don’t have to be expensive to be enjoyable...
Agreed... But, it does add to the desirability and availability

I thought watch stuff would be pretty straight forward. I think I have something figured out in the progression of a watch then the "transitional" piece comes up. WTF.
Caseback says 145.022 but it a 145.0022
Has the nice patina markers while some of the same year have the white markers. Who’s on first? I dunno know
But I really like this Omega
