I tried this new open source timing software on WUS. I don't have much of a reference to compared it with but it seems to work really well. What impresses me most is that it manages to obtain watch beat information despite the presence of ambient noise. I think it does so by averaging measurement samples at half-beat frequency. In addition, the graphs gives a sanity check on the measurements such as amplitude, and also permit diagnosis of watch issues. I used a homemade microphone/preamplifier setup hooked up to my computer's sound card. I attached a screen shot of results of my wife's Longine watch.

Any thoughts or opinions on this software?
