Hi @OMEGuy

I wore this watch daily from 92 to about 97 ( in 97 I was on assignment working Europe and Pacific region ( sales ) ). That was the watch I work to most of the Timezone GTGs .... and other watch GTGs....

I do have more then one watch....
hahahaha

Hi Bill,

no need for hahahaha.

I know you have more than one watch.

This was the reason I could not understand you haven't worn this Speedy more often (since 92):

it’s been in my “box” since 92 ..

Good hunting

I don't know if it's necessary to say this, but you are without any doubt one of the most important contributors to the collectors world of OMEGA.

I'd never dare to argue with you, unless I wouldn't share your thoughts. 😜

I love your presentations, your reviews and finally your "good hunting"...

Don't know why we have to discuss this... Yes, I dared to tell you, you should wear your Speedy more often.

Yes, I confirm they are (though my camera focussed on the dial).

Looks, like you could cut yourself with this haha! I don´t think I´ve ever seen a 105012 in such good condition, absolute grail piece. Thank you so much for sharing it!

Thank you so much for sharing your watch @Bill Sohne and for going through the effort to find those pictures. I think your watch really shows how a watch case ages over time when its worn but not polished: the polished part doesn´t reflect like a mirror anymore and the brushed lines of the polished part aren´t that visible anymore, but what doesn´t change is the sharpness of the edges. Very educational, thanks man!

I dont use the term unpolished as it does not sit well with me. It is often used as an isolated attribute, so sellers shriek Unpolished Unpolished! and wanting a premium even thought the watch looks like it sat in a washing machine once a week for the whole of its life. I like the term original profiles.

I just love those pictures @Kringkily -what wonderful examples. Truly hard to find.

Here is a CB case that has very original profiles. Not as nice as those above.

I happily got rid of my Speedmaster for a Seamaster Professional 2254.50, but I have to appreciate all of your appreciation!

I'm off topic here, but just wanted to say I'm inspired by the show of respect in this transaction between you two. Absolute class.

Makes me glad to be a (relatively unseasoned) member of this forum - particularly given I otherwise only frequent a few Australian forums that have become quite notorious over the last few days...

Cheers,
Mark

More unpolished/factory-profile love.

Here is a 105.012-66 CB ...

And here two 145.012 (I believe these should have the same case profile as the 105.012-66 HF ... but correct me if I am wrong). These are also in 'excellent/collector' condition (someone the other day was asking for such pics). Lighting is harsh, and blue (there is more color to the lume under regular light)...

Talking about price ranges and conditions, patina you don't like or are willing to accept, watches, that appear better in pics than in reality, wrong and fake, overpolished or not, your watch is simply the answer to how a vintage Speedmaster should look like.

Collector's grade, IMO. 😀 Maybe "Excellent" elsewhere. Now? It doesn't matter.

Beauty doesn't need justification.

Hey @eugeneandresson,
I´m not sure they are the same. If you look at the bottom of the lugs on a 105012-66 HF, the lugs are pointy on the bottom:

With the Ref. 145012 there seems to be some variation going from pointy bottom to flat bottom:

My first instinct was that the lugs were just polished but I don´t think anybody would polish the bottom of the lugs. Would be great if somebody with more knowledge of that could chime in here!
