Has anybody ever seen an unpolished Speedy 105012?

Hi guys,

I would really like to know what the HF cases of the Ref. 105012 look like originally, without polish. I´ve looked at a lot of watches all over the internet but I couldn´t find one that was definitely unpolished. The closest I´ve gotten was this:

But even here the seller (Revolution) says they doubt it´s unpolished.

I´ve found an unpolished 145012 on the forum here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-speedmaster-145-012-67-cal-321-boxed-serviced.55823/ but this has another case shape than the 105012.

So my question is if anyone on this forum owns, or has photos of a 105012 with a definitely unpolished HF case?

Looking forward to hearing from you guys!

Luca

Did you look at speedmaster101.com?
Yes, first place I checked. This one on the left looks very good:

But I can´t tell if it´s totally unpolished, which he also doesn´t claim. And the only lug shots he provides are of the CB case.

Wow, those edges are razor-sharp. I read somewhere, that the HF cases weren´t as sharp as the CB cases and that´s why a lot of HF cases appear to be polished when they aren´t but that claim has definitely been disproven by your watch here. Thank you so much for the help!
Do you by any chance also have a photo of specifically the lugs?

PS: Your mom has got some really great taste!

Hi @Luca.P

I don’t know the next time I will get access to the watch but when I do I will take additional pics

Well I've asked... but nobody has ever told me whether or not they think my Dad's is or isn't polished? Whad'ya think? I think my 'old man' was too busy wearing it to polish it.😀

Yes, I confirm they are (though my camera focussed on the dial).

Well, now I may really hope you didn't sell it?

Dear Bill,

it's a really nice Speedmaster you have there. The edges are sharp and crisp and you shared a lot of pictures in this thread. Thank you!

But why don't you wear this beauty?

A Speedmaster's destination is to be worn, finally. Otherwise it wouldn't have been worn on the moon.😉

It is 145.022-68

Here is a 105.012-64HF where the top edge of the lyre lugs are unpolished. They are very sharp and distinct so anyone saying they came soft has never seen one up close unpolished.

It's a beautiful watch. All one can ask for.

This is what an unpolished case is supposed to look like.

You can tell that case was finished by hand. Thanks for sharing.

Finished by hand? No, it's not.

The case proportions look different on '67 and '68 cases normally. The sides are more emphasized.

But your watch looks beautiful, either way.
