    hi all
    I have a hario hand coffee grinder
    [IMG]
    But I've lost the handle so I'm trying to work out how I can replace it. I would have thought a simple spanner would have sufficed, but the nut is a pentagon, not a hexagon

    Tomorrow I'll call hario to see if they sell spares, but I couldn't find anything on the inter-webs.

    Any suggestions?

    Keeping in mind I'm not all that handy......

    I'd try my old trusted case opener needle nose pliers :D

    ::stirthepot::

    Seriously pliers with some feeling... Be prepared that odd nut might be a lefty

    You're looking at a "penta bolt" typically used by manufacturers for added security because the traditional socket or wrench will not remove the 5-sided head, although I'm at a loss as to why a coffee grinder handle would need one.

    If the manufacturer won't help, try looking for a "penta socket" like these:

    Another idea might be to drill an undersized hole into a piece of steel and then flatten out the sides with a file to make a five-sided DIY wrench.

    Major T.J. Kong was a Pentagonal nut. How else to explain his behaviour?

    I would think a Pentagonal nut would be relatively easy to find, but it might be VERY expensive given they buy hammers for $800 and toilet seats for $600.

    Now a CIA nut.... well, that's more difficult to find despite their quantity.
