Hard Time Finding a 42mm Planet Ocean 2200.50, Blue face, Black Bezel

Not quite Vintage, hope I'm not in the wrong place. I've found the 45mm, not the 42mm. The smaller and attractive thinner one I think would be nice a daily watch, seems hard to find in good condition. Are they that desirable, did they not make many, or am I just not looking in the right places? I like the blue face/Black bezel & the hands, I find it attractive.

Any dos or don'ts to share?

Are you absolutely sure a blue dial Planet Ocean of that era and model number exists? I don’t think they made a blue Planet Ocean until they went to ceramic bezels and the cal 8*** movements. A quick google search for that model number shows only black models. And as far as I know, Omega never made a blue dial PO with a black bezel, so if it did exist, that was likely a swap.

do you have any pictures of what you are looking at?

The first blue Planet Ocean was the 2nd Gen Titanium PO 42. There was no blue 1st Gen PO.

Well it looks like I've wasted time looking for something that doesn't exist lol. There are 45mm blue faced 2200.50s for sale. Love the look. I guess reading about the black faced ones in 45mm & 42mm, I assumed a 42mm blue faced would have been made too.

I already have a lovely black faced Aqua Terra. I like the thought of the thinner body smaller one with a blue face, nice looking and comfortable. I do prefer the blue face black bezel. The search continues.......

Again, there are no blue faced 45.5mm 2200.50-versions either. It is the anti reflective coating of the first POs which looks as if the dials are blue in certain angles.

One second it’s blue:

The next, black:

No blue dials, black only for both the models.
2201.50 is 42mm
2200.50 is 45mm

Earlier models had the earlier AR coating which can appear blue in some light. There are 3 possible dials. Black with white numbers, black with orange numbers, and the rare limited edition with a black ceramic dial aka POLMLE

please avoid the 2500 42mm PO. They are junk, if you purchased one already I’ll take it off your hands 😉

killer future classics.

I can confirm, no blue dials on first gen of Planet Ocean, just the effect of ar coating
