hard not to be disappointed in Omega this year

This applies to luxury in general. As we weren't able to p**** away our money in restaurants, bars and exotic holidays many suddenly had disposable income that could be spent on other things.

Absolutely - this too! Certainly applied to me. I didn't take trains to and from work for 6 months, sold my car and ended up upgrading from an Orient to an Omega. I wouldn't have been able to dream of such a purchase if not for COVID!

I've been hoping the next Seamaster 300 Master-Coax (I've been calling it MC2, for short) would debut before the year is out - I suppose there's a little more time to make it under the wire. Can't wait to see it.

Edit: Your LE Liquid Metal PO looks fantastic on that mesh!

Same - I'm 100% in the MC2 waiting camp as well. Have held off on buying one of the originals several times this year.

I liked the releases this year. Instead of further diluting the catalog with silly limited editions and stupid color combinations it seems that more thought went into the watches that came out in 2020. I hope this more focused approach is the direction in which Omega will keep going.

Very good point, and I don't disagree. It's starting to feel like a lot of the longtime community feedback has been heeded. I particularly appreciated how the Nekton had all these neat little hat-tips to the original AC references - stuff that non-enthusiasts would totally miss.

2021

A steel planet ocean in 42mm with aluminium bezel would be nice. Blue and maybe some new colours

Also a speedy with new bracelet and no crown guards

Yeah, I think it has been a "crap" year for a lot of reasons.....
We are 42 days away from saying goodbye to 2020. The number 42 was a very important number in a Douglas Adams book I read may moons ago. Either way, I am sure if we held a vote, 2020 would go down as the worst year ever.

I think saying disappointed is pretty harsh. Omega is only one of the few brands who listen to their client base. Hopefully(!) it鈥檚 a better year for releases next year after everything has calmed down.

Yes
For example Speedmaster co axial has not been upgraded for 7 years.
Omega issued pretty nice Racing 3 yers ago, with a new clasp, ceramic bezel and bigger chronograph dials. But it鈥檚 big, heavy (no titanium) and not everyone likes racing seconds marks.
PO in Ti issued in wild grey-orange colors only.
I can go on.
