It is an awesome Speedy. Congrats again, @andyberger87! Cheers!

Thank you sir! @Jemagloh what the next watch you have your eyes on?

Weirdly I've wanting to pick up a Vancouver 2010 Seamaster (the Red bezel) one on the cheap... we need more red!

Nice (I'm a fan of red, too)!

It will be interesting to see what else Omega has up its sleeve for 2024.

Does someone know if a red seconds hand is easily source able? (Like the one from Alaska project)
Would be killer on that watch!

Is there a risk of the warranty being voided due to changing the hand? I'd leave it alone until after five year warranty period is up.

After securing the snoopy 50th recently I keep trying this on at the boutique and convincing myself I don’t want / need it. But who am I kidding. I love how great this looks on the rubber and leather straps, and how sharp that dial looks in the right light.

I have money aside for the non date sub, to add a much needed diver to my collection.. am I crazy using it for yet another Speedmaster? Note I’ve also got the Ed White 321 which I’m worried might not get as much wrist time, I’ve already considered selling it a few times mainly due to the amount of cash I have tied up in it.

Keep the EW 321, you will be sorry if you sell it. It's the best Speedmaster made in the last 50+ years, imo. Only you can decide if you want the white dial, they are going to be made for quite awhile so you can always pick one up and they will start appearing on the used market pretty soon. The 321 and Snoopy should be enough right now as you await a no date Sub.

Of all of those the 321 is the one I’d be keeping but that’s just personal opinion. The white speedy is (supposed to be) around for a good while yet so I’d suggest pausing and not jumping at the new thing, then really ask yourself which ones you love and then follow your heart (not a financial decision - ie. Cash tied up in a particular watch - if you love it this shouldn’t matter).

All this from someone who is absolutely prone to jumping at a new purchase and finds it hard to wait!

Sure there is a risk of voiding the warranty… but life is short and waitlists are long 😁

In my biased opinion, a Sub is boring in comparison. May I offer an alternative; buy the white dial Speedy and a pre-owned Planet Ocean (say a 2201.50) to fill the diver slot in your collection.

I think I agree. Tried both the white speedy and the 124060 sub on today and honestly though I like the design and appreciate the build of the sub, it did little to the heart strings I like the white Speedmaster. But I will always have a Speedmaster bias.

also need to consider the updated 300m next year..

A kindred spirit! I will try to hold onto the 321 but I know what I’m like. I will always be looking at what other watch / watches that money could buy me and at some point will flip for the next new shiny thing. It’s honestly a disease.

"to add a much needed diver [because the sub is considered the ideal diver by other people?] to my collection [because according to other people collections should look a certain way and be composed of certain watches?]"

who are you collecting for- people on reddit, or yourself?

"am I crazy using it for yet another Speedmaster?"

again, who are you collecting for, and what should your ideal collection look like? according to whom?

the heart wants what the heart wants. and I agree with @SpdMastr , the 6 digit is a bit "boring" and more straight forward than the white speedy. Oh- though I must add, that makes it the perfect watch for a curated watch collection you collected for other people to enjoy.

Figure out whether or not you're considering it because you want it for yourself, or because of some internet ideal. If you want it for yourself great! it's a great watch and I can think of much worse things to spend 8 to 10k on.

Absolutely fair comments. The sub is great, slightly boring but a very nice watch though has a certain stigma attached to it in recent years, which I tell myself who cares if you like the watch.. to your point.. but sometimes it’s hard to totally ignore I’ll admit.

perhaps my idea of the perfect collection have been generated, somewhat subconsciously, from years of trawling through forums. I tell myself I need a diver, but do I.. for what? Swimming on vacation once a year when there is absolutely no need to wear a watch at all. Or just use one of my g shocks. Nonsense really, if I want one it has to be because I love the watch itself and how I and I only feel it fits into the collection. I do get it.

I tell myself I need a diver, but do I...?

I"m kinda the opposite:

(a.) I wouldn't wear a Rolex solely due to stigma, but also not my style; take away the stigma & maybe the yachtmaster or deepsea

(b.) Only ever had divers since they let all my helium escape

That said, the white speedy might join me this year.
