I’ve emailed them and as far as I know they’re currently waiting to get their hands on one to test compatibility 🤞.
I'll be pretty surprised if they don't eventually come out with a 2nd gen FOIS caseback.

Finally decided to pop by the boutique to see one in-person. Very very nice. Too big for my wrists though with those lugs.

As I said, mine told me they were expecting two in and when could I get there. Got there when they opened two days later and got it.
You seem like an established, esteemed, repeat customer. Omega Boutiques love those.

I am just a regular Joe and currently on the "wishlist" at the closest boutique, whatever that means. Funny thing, I was ready to buy at MSRP when it first came out, but I don't enjoy all these dealer games. Nice to see some selling below MSRP, so that will likely be the route I go.

Seriously though : who buys watches for legibility?!
I will share though that I sold my Daytona because I could never read the time on it.

Really nice watch though, it wore well on my tiny wrists. Just useless for telling time. 🙁

The FOIS is hard to read. The hands are too shiny against the dark dial. Still gorgeous though.

One of my favorite design elements, flip wrist, tell time.

And I agree with the gorgeous part!

So I asked my local AD about this watch, and they said that they can order it for me. On strap, perhaps 4 weeks, on bracelet, who knows. I want a bracelet, so I told them so. They asked for payment in full to order it, with no expectation of receiving it any time soon. Or, I could (this was his suggestion) order it on a strap and then order the bracelet as a stand-alone item. 🤬

Shoot. I'll just try to find a used one, and if that doesn't work, see if any of the OB will get one and ship it to me. Or wait until next year when we go to NYC again and hope that the 5th Ave. boutique has one.

Contact the Nashville OB. Teresa will hook you up. Tell her Brian in Louisville sent you.

I've only purchased two there, both this year. White and FOIS, no games either time. But paying retail for others is crazy, I do go elsewhere for those.

I went to my AD on the release day, and they said they dont expect to receive any this year unless they place a customer order, since customer orders are being prioritized first by omega than the standard stock (it would have taken 2 months wait). I said i am not going to pay for the watch that i hasnt even seen in person.
Two weeks later i was on a business trip and visited a Boutique and they had one ready to purchase.
So dont hurry, they will be available eventually.

Huh? I got one in two weeks from expressing interest. And they did not have "customer orders", I didn't even prepay for it. I guess some boutiques do things differently.

So, I finally visited a boutique to see the watch in person and was... quite unimpressed. Unlike most, I found it weird. I liked Omega's promo, the announcement video was great, the watch looks great in pictures, but live? Quite cheap. I found the indices look like "plastic", and the colour is matte, unlike the shiny blue-grey dial, so the contrast between these elements makes the whole watch unattractive for me. In addition, the different white and silver hand combination is not for me. Congrats to all new owners, wear your watches in good health. And kudos to Omega for making it easily available without the list-spiel, I appreciate having a colour option apart from the monochrome dials on the moonwatches - maybe some other model will do it for me.

I like my white one the best. Of my three 3861's. The only complaint I have with my FOIS is the hour hand is too shiny and in some light it's hard to read.

Great take - I'm not with you on some of it, but I love the more forthcoming responses and would love it if we had more of them in here.

We all have different opinions, likes, etc and variety is the spice of watch life!

It seems the vast majority loves the watch, but I am glad there are many other models that satisfy everyone's needs.

Well, in their defense, it is an OmegaSpeedmaster and this is the Omega forum 😉
