I can't see any lume on the op dial. Perhaps the 'ghost' lume under the paint is the central crease? It does look more like a line than a lumed hole, to me anyway. Fabulous dial.

I don't understand what is being suggested here, but if you look at some of the markers, they do appear to have a small square of lume in the outer section (see blow-up below). As noted, better photos would be needed to be certain.

Yes, you appear to be right. I withdraw my suggestion.

I will get better photos,
i do see what you are talking about on your zoomed in shot, but i just cant see in person, maybe i need better lighting. The crystal is also fairly scratched so it makes it tough.

Sure, you can do that to satisfy your curiosity, but I don't think it really matters. Based on what we see, I think most of us are satisfied that there is lume in hands and dial. And it's extremely likely that there is lume in the inner sections of the hands, which is really the relevant issue, not the dial.

If you have a UV light, that would show you where the lume is as well

Now, assuming i am aloud to ask this, (i couldnt find a rule against it in the pinned threads). What is a watch of this nature roughly worth ? or what have similar ones gone for in the past?

Thanks all

Honestly, you are better off looking for sold items using the advanced eBay search or in the archives of the private sales listings on the forum. Or ask some of the experts by PM. Strictly speaking there is no rule against discussing values, but for an heirloom piece like yours, there's little upside to discussing it, unless you are looking to sell it. And you do not have enough posts to sell it on the forum.

I would never sell the gold one. it will stay in the family forever. However id like to know strictly out of curiosity. My grandfather may also like to know just for the heck of it as well.

Now my [specific watch reference removed] i would consider selling.. i have been considering it in order to move into something else. I quite like the [other specific watch reference removed] etc.

Now you have truly strayed into dangerous territory. 🤦

I am quite looking forward to getting way too deep into this (Omega watches in general, NOT breaking the rules of this forum)

No seriously, you may want to edit or delete that post. You're not allowed to sell on the forum until you have 200 posts, and that includes discussing or showing photos of watches that you want to sell. Read the rules.
