And the neigbors are really going to like the smelter.

This is like asking I need someone to help me manufacture 17th century japanees swards. I am sure a talented person could do it over a Hibachi.

I know the theory of harisprings.

I have John Harrison's notes to the board of longitude. So know that harsprings were wound 3 at a time to get the space between the coils.

Hairsprings and balances need to be made in tandom.

This is not to say for my own entertainment value that I have not considered some sort of AI robot method. that could fix or untangle bent springs.

There used to be people who did this for a living 10 hours a day 6 days a week. Perhaps such still do exist. I have a Val-72 which needs a hairspring. I started to play with the old books and videos. I then found one online at a great price, But I need to vibrate it and set the breguet overcoil.

So far I have not heard of anyone that can do such work. But I ask the local watchmakers anyway when I visit.

I even asked my glasblower friend it he could make a glass spring.

If you find someone let me know. This could be an area of oportunity for advancement.

Yes in the fast paced competitive world of Hair Spring manufacturing. And I thought that IT was the new profession to aspire to in achieving your life and family goals, how could I get it so wrong.

Someone who specializes in sorting out damaged hairsprings would be an absolute god send...it's at the 'need to adjust hairspring' point that things always seem go downhill...
