    Omega plated watches should be gold over stainless so what could explain the green grunge all over this one? It is obviously in awful condition otherwise but this is a curious condition.

    14ct gold contains a lot of copper. If the watch has been immersed in water, it will oxidise. I would ask for a movement photo before bidding, or bid low to avoid a loss if I received a movement rusted together.

    The gold is plated over brass. Brass has copper which corrodes.

    ( black dial is worth a gamble to more than a few here )

    As soon as I saw the title of the thread, I was pretty certain it was the black dial on eBay. As soon as I saw the link, I literally said “shit” out loud.
