I was very excited today to find a Tudor in the family. So the story behind the watch is this.

my grandparents were immigrants to Australia and met here. After many years of busting his butt, my grandfather decided to buy both himself and my grandmother watches. He was a mad that didn’t spend money on wants ever, so to hear that he spent on these two were special. He purchased himself this 6426 which I have and he purchased this ladies Tudor. I was given the Tudor by my grandmother to get it serviced and to pass it on to my daughter when she is of age.
The dial was so small I couldn’t see it signed Tudor and just thought it a gold watch.





both watches to be handed down to my kids when they are of age to receive them. What a gift.

That's a very pretty vintage watch and should be kept in the family.
Retailed by Dunklings (a well established jeweller in Oz) the movement is housed in a locally made case produced by Handley who were a Melbourne based watch case maker for many Swiss brands up until the mid 1960s.

Not a watch for a young lady to wear on a regular basis, but it would be great for special occasions (dinner at Vue de mode etc).

So yeah my daughter is 4 but I’ll keep the watch to pass on to her. Maybe she will wear it for special occasions.

a double signed watch is a nice thing and a Tudor to be passed down is a really special thing. I’m really happy and hope my daughter will enjoy it later in life.

 

If she knows the stories of your mother and gets a sense of her personality, she will indeed want the watch. Would make for a great sweet 16 gift,

 

It’s actually from my grandmother and her great grandmother. I’m fortunate enough for her to still be around and so I think it will mean the world to her.
