Only recently I've been looking at and potentially considering grand seiko dive watches. photo below for reference.

They seem to wear smaller than the 44mm size would suggest, and the design has grown on me. any owners with feedback? Love dive watches in general, and getting a bit over rolex, while blancpain doesn't massively speak to me, nor does some of the modern omegas

Sorry I can't add any feedback or constructive comments to this thread but I am in the same boat as you. Been wearing an SBDX017 for most of the past 6 weeks. I tried going back to a 14060 Rolex but it just looks rather under-whelming, uninspiring and cheap. I'll probably be in a minority of one with that comment. I have also been looking at Grand Seiko divers, Hi-Beat and Spring Drive. Leaning towards a Hi-Beat but a Spring Drive would be a novelty. I have a Shogun in for a service with Seiko, once they contact me again I'll ask if they can service/repair the Spring Drives onsite or if it has to go back to Japan.

A minority of two....Got rid of a 14060m a few years back because it was under-whelming and unininspiring....The cheap part is new, never thought of it that way. Did make a profit on the sale, though.

    That's what I have a 4 line 14060M. The Titanium Hi-Beat SBGH291 is certainly interesting but I haven't seen any around.

Totally feel that, overall Rolexes are great iconic watches but on the wrist for me (sounds like similar to you) feels like it should be worth half, a quarter, or less of what price they're going for.

Similarly I'm keen on the idea of a hi beat, but have a similar view to you re spring drive. If they chucked the new hi beat movement they have in the white birch in any dive watch, I'd be getting it immediately I recon

Looks like we both have the same opinion. There is multiple videos of the MM300 being compared to the Submariner on YouTube. The Submariner usually wins, albeit marginally, but at 4 times the price it should. But I don't know if it does?

The only Hi-Beat I can get locally is the SBGH255G which is rather large. I'll be keeping an eye out for a Spring Drive Titanium SBGA463. Are you going for the Hi-Beat?

I'm waiting for the new Spring Drive movement 9RA2 with the power reserve indicator in the back to be on a dive watch. How soon will it take for Grand Seiko to do that?

I’ve seen these in the window of my AD. Certainly don’t look like a typical 44mm and actually very nice.

Got mine a month ago from my local AD, Mayors Jewlers. Not one second off. (stock photo though). They said they had another in stock (maybe another store though). Seems solid as a rock. All my watches are divers - I dive...

I was long undecided whether the 44mm of a Grand Seiko divers are too big for me, but since half a year I know that it is quite different. It fits perfectly and is the ultimate diver for me. Since I have the SBGA231, I have neither worn my Sea-Dweller nor my Seamaster 300 MC. And I don't think that will change.

I’ve had my Sbga463 for almost a year. I really like that watch more than any other diver I’ve had my hands on. I also am a huge fan of the spring drive. I love the smooth sweep of the second hand and I’ve gained 3.8 seconds in the last 28 days.
