This is the first version of the Self Dater line.

Background
This one is up on the chopping block as well. Reason for the sale is I have two vintage 57GS Self Daters and can't justify keeping both.
Purchased locally in Singapore from another collector 2 years ago. I have worn it on average 1-2x/month on average since purchase.
I'm mainly looking to recoup the cost of the watch and the service I put into it.
This is the rarer SD version and in general prices for these for one in excellent condition with original crown in today's market would be upwards of USD 3000 from what I've seen.

Even if you have no interest in purchasing you can read up more info in the links below. Just fyi I have no affiliation to the sites appended.

Watch facts
Year: 1963
Case serial: 3001063
Case: stainless steel at size 36.5mm without crown
Lug width: 19mm
Movement: 430/5722A manual winding (movement picture of the watch is included from previous owner's picture)

Condition
Crystal: very clean, no significant scratches or marks
Dial: As this is the SD version, the hour markers are made of white gold, sunburst dial that is very clean apart from the line marking from 7 to 9 o clock.
Case: likely to have been polished before but still retains its facets
Caseback: multiple scratches over the caseback. Lettering and GS lion medallion still very well preserved. Has a transparent caseback sticker on it during my time of ownership.
Lugs: some dings over the top and bottom of the lugs which will be shown in pictures
Crown: Fine-knurled version. The original crown was thought to be the coarse knurled version but these wore out easily and were replaced by the fine-knurled crowns. Depends how much of vintage GS purist you are.

Watch comes with a brand new stitchless black strap with generic stainless steel.

Service
Last serviced February 2021 by my watchmaker.
Date changes accordingly past midnight.
Running at +1 to 2s/day (on last timegrapher check in Feb 2021, I can send you video of this if needed)

Pricing/Payment
Asking price is USD 2000 reduced!
Payment via Wise (formerly TransferWise) and would prefer to receive payment in Singapore Dollars (SGD).
Happy to go halfies on international shipping via Fedex International Priority with insurance unless you'd like to arrange it on your end.

No returns for this so ask as many questions as you'd like 😀. Happy to send videos as well.

Watch is located in Singapore!
Am also on IG as tockingclock.

In summary, Grand Seiko 43999 SD version with some imperfections that if you don't mind that can be easily dressed up for a dress watch or swap it out for a more casual strap and you have something to go with T-shirt and jeans!

Wow really beautiful watch 😀
I wonder how on earth they’re cramming 35 Jewels in there without an automatic winding system too!!
My 8306 (auto) has 30 functional jewels.
Anyways just wanted to say I love it, GLWS
Wish I could afford it 🙁

what is the production date? You hid the serial, but at least you can provide that?

Thanks for the heads up. Added Year 1963 and a pic of the case serial.
