It’s going to be a shitty upcoming months. (Edit: I meant, shittier!!)
But luckily I’m poor and old.
On that note, any Lange 1 and Grand Lange 1 owners here? Please give me some input of how this German puppy behaves. Photos are much appreciated.

I’m cross-shopping Grand Lange 1 to Gold Daytona. I do appreciate the relatively invisibility of Lange brand vs. the “Oh Shit, is that a Gold Rolie?” But damn, that obnoxious and loud Rolli is salivating.

Two completely different watches. What's it's intended use, other than just telling the time???

If a 'Gold Rolie' is too much for you then get a white gold Daytona....very understated. For those that contend that WG is indistinguishable from SS they miss the point of it.....a gold watch feels different (heavier), has a different luster, and wears 'warmer' on the wrist. It's a personal luxury item.

My last few acquisitions have been masculine. boss lady requested yellow gold or rose gold case, in case she wants to dip in my watch box accessorize her outfit. A win is a win, I’m not willing to talk her into white gold. it might not end well for me.

I agree. Two completely different animals.

Can go understated if you pick Pt and WG

The Lange 1 is the definite Lange. The winding of the watch is pure joy - it's butter smooth.
The later ones have improvements such as if running down, the watch runs down and the second hand stops at the 12.
It's quite rare to run into other Lange's.

Do you have a AD or boutique you can go to?

Killer collection P. I haven’t made my purchase yet. Waiting to see if my dealer can get me a better deal. Some steel Patek are now avail, he’ll update me when they come in.

The Ceramic Rolex Daytona is far more robust and less delicate than the Lange.

I've owned a Lange 1 moon phase (and a Lange time zone) and neither stuck

    This on the other hand...

Huge fan of the black steel ceramic Daytona as well

    Its a pretty subjective question...

My personal opinion is one is gaudy.

    The other is understated.

I have two minor beefs with the Grand Lange 1 moonphase. Not sure if rectifiied now.

But back in 2018, they updated the Lange 1 moonphase movement such that:

    1. It had instantaneous date change
    2. AM/PM indicator

Couldnt understand why they didnt do the same for the similar but pricier Grand version

The quickset date advance pusher at 10 o'clock has always been with both Lange 1 and Grand Lange 1.

What irritates me is that the Lange 1 now does instantaneous date change on or about midnight (like most Rolex watches) while the Grand Lange 1 does not.

Though it rarely matters as i am asleep while the date changes and by the time I wake up, the date has changed.

Only irritating when I'm awake at midnight and wearing the watch. And it would not have peeved me if they did not put the instantaneous date change on the Lange 1.

Still a great looking watch. Nice to look at and nice on the wrist.

Because Lange is first and foremost known as movement watch company ( like Voutilainen is to dials ).
So Lange isn't going to re case a movement into another model of a watch like Patek with the 240 or FPJ with the 1300.
So the smaller Lange moonphase being built on top of the Lange One is going to get the benefits from the updated movement. And when Lange upgrades the Lange Grande One movement, then you should see the Grande Lange Moonphase also receiving the like for like benefits.
