Love mine, but I think you have the same potential problem to damage the case back.

Oy gevalt, not you, too! ::facepalm1::

Yep - me too. They are well built straps, can be safer that a regular strap, and in my eye look fine on an appropriate watch. Then again I do tend to like military watches, so NATO's are quite common there.

There are times when I get a very distinct "old man" flavor from this forum with regards to taste in watches. When I see yellow gold watches on yellow gold bracelets, that's screams "old man" watch to me. Like people 80+...trying not to offend anyone who may be in or approaching that age bracket...my step-father is 84 and he wears watches like this - on expansion bracelets no less!

I bought one gold watch once, but sold it on not long after. Was a vintage Elgin Chronograph:

Not saying there is anything wrong with these watches at all, they are just not my thing, just like NATO's are not your thing. I think despite these earth shattering differences we can co-exist here. 馃槈

Cheers, Al

Sorry, I was just teasing you after the barely restrained controversy on the NATO strap thread!

You're right, though, they're not exactly my thing, but I have no issue with them as such. Shame they hammer the case backs, though. I'm flexible on the subject of straps, if it looks good, go with that... although metal stretch bands with telescopic lug width adjusters are perhaps a step too far, they really mess up lugs.

Hey no worries, just having some fun mate. And yes those spring loaded lug width adjusters are brutal. I can usually convince someone who sends me a watch on one of these to toss it, but sometimes they just insist...ouch!
