Good Value Omega Seamaster 166.010?

Hello all,
I am new to vintage watch collecting and the forum. I've tried my best to do my research on ref. 166.010, and I think I found a good deal: $750 for one that has been recently serviced. Everything looks legit and original (excluding the strap) to my untrained novice eye, but I wanted to see what you guys thought. Is this a good deal for the condition?

The dial looks repainted to me. Have you got any better pictures. These are quite poor quality.

Hopefully this photo works better for you.
The dial is in great condition, but I haven't seen anything weird with the font or anything on the dial. The "S" looks correct, the "t" is crossed at the right level. This also has the original scalloped crown which usually got replaced with a different crown during servicing afaik.

Also, the Timeless History Channel has covered this watch before, which I have been using as a comparison. This is what theirs looks like.

It looks better in your additional photos. The Seamaster and Omega text still iffy to me but I think that’s due to the quality of the picture.

See how crisp the text looks o that example, along with the serifs on the text (Eg the top of the M in Omega). This wasn’t visible in your first set of pictures and although the second set still aren’t rest it does look better.

I'm definitely going to ask for more photos before I buy. I get where you're coming from with the serifs. I'll update this thread when I get some clearer photos. Thanks for the help!

Are these photos from a dealer??

It amazes me how some professional watch dealers can’t take a decent photo. I think it’s likely original but I the pics are still poor so I wouldn’t guarantee it.

I normally agree with @Davidt and I certainly agree with him about the photos.

My initial view is that it’s an original dial and that the price is not unreasonable although I’d hope to acquire one of these for about a hundred dollars less.

I would factor in service, as that gasket looks very old and disintigrated. But thats advised anyway with vintage watch. Dial looks ok to my eye but agree photos are suboptimal. Price seems fair.

Honestly, the originality of the dial would make it worth it. It's a pretty clean dial. All the other ones I have seen usually have bubbling of some sort.

Looks original to me. Service will cost you a couple of hundred. Not a great deal. Just a normal deal. Great model though. Welcome to the club!
