HI Guys

A big missed opportunity.... for a lucky buyer...

This is what happens when you ask too many questions in my opinion, just shows your not ready to buy in the wild ( that is ok , welcome to the hobby ).. This was really an advanced collector or dealer opportunity. I am a little surprised the jeweler did not buy it from him.

Good Hunting

In my opinion, mildly condescending but point taken.
I identified the opportunity. I chose not to pursue and flagged it to everybody on the forum.

HI Andrew

@Mazoue No offense was intended... But you need to keep in mind there are many on the forum that say " Buy the Dealer " and others like myself say buy the watch .... That is if you have enough confidence in your own "knowledgebase" to make a "fast call" on a buy or not.. that is a risk only you can measure....You came across a nice watch and more then a fair price... If a dealer bought it from someone at that price some would say they took advantage of the seller.... . I can tell you I have missed stuff cause I hesitated or just was not sure.. and if you ever met a guy who said he never missed one, they are lying to you......

even the pros dribble before they shoot!
hahahah
'
The great thing about this hobby there is always something else great just around the corner , it will be a different great but great just the same....

Your watch , I would want the movement to be signed " adjusted in 5 positions and temp " most of the micro chronometres are marked " adj in two positions and temp" .... but that is me......

Good Hunting

Could you not get him to ship it to a member in the country he is located, who would in turn ship it to you?

He's unrelenting.

He's +500 kilometers from my place. I don't have time to make the trip the next 2 weeks. I've tried the following (in order):

- Meeting up in the middle
- Paypal business & DHL Express
- bank wire & DHL Express

In the end he only responded with

"Nur Bar bij abholung."

Been trying to purchase this watch the moment Andrew passed on it, it seems a bit too much of an effort for me to communicate with the seller, especially that I'm located in Australia and I don't think he can ship it here. I've pulled out from it, since one of us seems to have better luck on getting it. Good luck Bart!

I would have given up .
What's German for "Stick your watch where the sun doesn't shine"?

Had I seen this I would have bought it in less than 1 second and never said a word! These are wise words above.

BTW, the strap can fit a +- 18 cm diameter wrist max, that's not much and these extra links are impossible to find, this might be an issue...

Bracelet will fit my wrist, easily.

In the end the guy doesn't seem so bad. Just not used to dealing with watches and their collectors.
