·Looking for guidance:
-I bought this watch in 2005 for $99 at a pawn shop.
-It was sold as a men's dress watch but is small.
-Would love to know how old it is, reference number, model name, movement, etc. I know absolutely nothing.
-It ran well enough after I bought it but last time I wound it the ticking was faster than normal and now the watch runs extremely fast, half an hour passes after approximately 15 minutes.
-Does that sound like a major problem or does it just need to be regulated or adjusted?
-Anything super simple I could do to fix it? I have no idea to open the case and wouldn't want to damage anything.
-Any suggestions on where to get it fixed, I'm in the Chicago, IL. area but would ship if needed.
Markings are as follows:
-Painted Omega symbol below "12" and the word "Omega" In person the face does not look like it has been repainted.
-"17 Jewels" on face above the "6"
-Omega symbol and "Omega 18k" inside buckle.
-No Omega symbol on crown. Is that normal or has the crown been changed at some point?
-Case back has a triangle with rounded edges Omega symbol at the top and says, "Omega Watch Co" inside the triangle and "Fab Suisse Swiss Made." Below that it says "18K 0.750" which I am assuming is the thickness of the gold platting. Let me know if I am wrong. Below that it says "30078" Is that a model number, serial number, or something else. Nothing good comes up in a quick Google search
