Have this beautiful watch and seeking advice on dial replacement or restoration - which is recommended? For the former, where might I find a newer dial and other parts? For the latter, who in the US may be trusted to restore the dial?

Many thanks for your experience and wisdom!

...dial replacement or restoration - which is recommended?

None of the above. I fully expected to see a destroyed dial, but yours will be difficult to improve on.

Have this beautiful watch
Vintage watches are prized for their originality, and your watch is indeed beautiful in its current state.

Unlike many other collector's markets (such as vintage automobiles, where restoration is often desirable) vintage watches are the most coveted in a gently aged condition, where the entire watch is exactly as it was when left the factory, with only the subtle evidence of age to indicate the passage of time.

Therefore, replacing the dial or restoring the dial on your watch will ruin it's value (to collectors) because it will no longer be original. On a collector's forum such as this one, we would highly recommend leaving the watch alone. If you want to wear your watch, have it serviced by a watchmaker who is used to working on vintage chronographs, as the internal watch movement parts should be periodically cleaned, inspected for wear, lubricated and adjusted.

On a collector's forum such as this one.

It's an everyone forum!

That dial is pretty remarkable and no one will be able to restore it. It's also very old. Any attempts at restoration would not be an improvement.

It's amazing (I suppose not really) what (some) people will tell you to make a buck - great to receive such good advice from Omega enthusiasts. Thanks again.

I'm no lover of patina/damage/degraded dials, but in this case I agree with the other posters. The majority of the dial is pretty much intact. It only seems to be the lighter coloured pulsations inner circle that has suffered noticeable degradation. You will look long and far to find a dial restoration specialist who might be trusted to restore that part of the dial to factory spec in such a way that it does not look out of place with the rest of the dial ageing.
