Hi guys

Does this case looks unpolished to you? It is a full set 16700 value at 11k, I think I bargain down a bit. Is it the current value these days for GMT?

Well did the seller say so? If yes I would proceed extra carefully with that watch if so. If it's claimed as unpolished then just look at those pictures real carefully and see what shows it's age out of place. It should be obvious. To me it looks like it was polished yesterday, which is fine as long as it's disclosed.

Yes, 11K seems to be the Current asking price for b and p 16700 from top dealers ( check HQ milton, tropical watch and a few others)

but you really shouldn't be buying any rolex SS sports watch At the moment, if you dont know What the the market Is doing - rolex Pre owned pricing has gone crazy these past 18months, and no one has any idea what it will do next

be careful out there ......

ps - i presume fred was referring to the oval shaped lug holes, a sign of polishing

The watch has been polished, which is not the end of the world. It’s not terrible quality, seen a lot worse. Unfortunately, most dealers make that proclamation without hesitation in order to move inventory.

I like the watch, it’s a nice tritium dial, which in my opinion are a lot more desirable than luminova. The insert is also very nice and looks to be original. The set is missing the GMT booklet.

Yes I know the current steel Rolex market has gone crazy even during the pandemic. I sold my 16710 full set for 6.5k 3 years ago and now price has been skyrocketing past 10k. Maybe it is not the time to buy back but we never know how high this trend will continue.

Certainly not unpolished but a solid case nevertheless. Pricing on these are beyond my comprehension, but that's just my opinion. The market is the market.

Modestly polished, but a nice watch overall IMO.

Agree with the above assessments that it's been lightly polished. Look at the shapes of the lug holes and the differences between the chamfers. Still the watch looks great and a light sympathetic polishing wouldn't stop me from picking it up. Not sure on the pricing -- I paid much much less earlier this year for a non-investment grade U-serial 16700 (Swiss only dial, no B/P, and slightly more polished than the OP watch). Obviously not an apples-to-apples comparison, but $11,000 seems steep.
