    well what ya know!..

no.. really what do you know!?

there seems to be little or no historical sources on Glycine generally.. i mean they LOVE a re-release but dont seem to feel its worth collecting a source of any historical provenance for say ... the airman or the Combat! ... any ACTUAL military provenance? or did it just sound good like Airman.. whose were glycine in the 60s they seem to be one of the bought / sold / bought sold again companies with no SOLID routes

Anyone know of any good sources? info on the brand?

Great info, history, and heritage in the above link. Small niche brand but lots of actual history.

    Nice Combat!

Glycine has very solid roots with a well respected history. At one point they were sold along with Rolex and Omega. The early Airman employed the Felsa 692 Bidynator movement which I am led to believe was the first automatic movement that wound in both directions. They didn't fair well during the Quartz crisis. They lost a lot when Charles Hertig Jr gave up the reigns in 1984. The writing was on the wall. Invicta now own them so well and truly down the toilet.
The Combat had no actually military provenance. Neither did the Airman but they were popular with USAF personnel during the Vietnam war.
If you truly regard Glycine with such disdain and vitriol along with the Combat shoot me PM and I will take that horrible, repugnant little watch off your hands.

Thanks for posting that Glycine Combat. Black dial and full set of numeral markers looks good.

I'm saddened about Glycine being acquired by Invicta. I enjoy owning and wearing the vintage Glycines I have and have long had an interest in the brand. A Glycine was the first vintage watch acquisition for me.

not repugnant towards the vintage only the modern trash and re-releases with lack of any kinda provenance associated omega release a speedmaster and celebrate its past

but being acquired by invicta this now makes sence...

they could cut 90% of their range and be a BETTER brand...

Glycine now is about as much Glycine was in the 60's as Triumph was in the 60's as it is now.
    The '53 re-issue was good.
