The crown on my early 60s Airman has lately been very stiff, to the point that it's difficult to turn or pull out and set the time. Around the time this started happening, the hacking also became very inconsistent, as in sometimes the seconds hand would stop at the top of the dial and sometimes not. It's probably due for a service soon anyway, but do these symptoms indicate the hacking mechanism may be jamming or getting damaged? It was rebuilt a few years ago by Jim Sadilek and has worked like a champ ever since, so I would hate to wreck it by using it when I shouldn't. I post my question here for the edification of other Airman owners or general fans of this handsome watch.
Based on photos that Jim posted in a different thread, I think that the two issues could be related. https://omegaforums.net/threads/glycine-airman-knowledge-sought.97404/page-3#post-1465096
