I like the Glycine airman, but for me personally I'd be looking to find a vintage example. They are a little more money, but I tend to think that they will appreciate in value and I'm not sure the same can be said about the 2000.

In terms of the watch that you've posted, I haven't seen a newer version in person. But to me it appears as though the sides have been heavily polished, whereas the rest of the watch appears to have a brushed / matte finish. This might be the way that they come, but something to consider.

    Best of luck

I just read a blog, http://flippersdiary.blogspot.com/ and it appears that the original finish was brushed and the blogger commented that it is a bit difficult to have a 24hr watch in a daily rotation with 12hr watches. Thanks for the reply Zuke. Good eye on the finish!

I really enjoy vintage Glycine and as Zuke pointed out for 200-400USD more you can get into an excellent example, just do your homework on the hacking mechanism if you go vintage. They also wear bigger then the case size due to the longer lugs. Won't get you to 42mm but won't wear small.
As for difficulty telling time on a 24h, no issues plus most vintage models have a tail on the hour hand you can use as a cheat for 12h time. Few examples below to help motivate you:)

That's a cool tip about the tail of the hour hand.

Thanks 1685. If I could find a vintage like the lower left of your group shot I would definitely be interested. I've got a 7.5" - 7.75" wrist so I don't think a 42mm that wears a bit large will be a problem. Looks like I have more homework to do.

Sorry to for the confusion on the case size. Most of the vintage ones in my post are 36mm, the point I was trying to make but I was not clear on, is even at 36mm they wear big. It won't feel like a 42mm but won't wear small. I'm a 7.5 and it wears nicely i.e. Doesn't look like I'm wearing a nickel on my wrist. Keep an eye out on eBay, just be careful as with any brand. As a side there is nothing out there currently I would pull the trigger on.

Here's a great reference site and feel free to ping me with any questions.

There is also this great site run by a fantastic gentlemen and Glycine guru. All I have learned on the brand was due to him.

Thanks for the link. I learned a lot from Andreas' site as well. Part of the trick is going to be waiting for the right one.
