Globemaster Sizing

Much has been made of the lack of micro-adjustment capability and absence of half-links on the Globemaster bracelet. These two issues are seen as negatives by many reviewers and forum posters and are often cited as reasons to prefer Rolex. But, nowhere can I find any information or complaints in regard to people who were unable to actually get a Globemaster to fit well. Were it a real issue I would expect to see/hear more about it. I have a Globemaster on the way from an AD in another state hope I don't have any sizing problems. Has anyone here had any problems? Please excuse me for beating a dead horse if that is the case, Thanks.

This is an issue with any bracelet watch in the era of the micro-adjustment. Not too long ago, virtually all bracelet watches were adjusted by removing links only, or removing links and having a couple of adjustment points that required a pin tool (or improvised one) to make smaller adjustments within the clasp.

Everyone dealt with this fine.

Then an improvement came along; the on-the-fly micro-adjustments in clasps, allowing a perfect fit that can be adjusted as the day goes on and your wrist expands and contracts with the climate and your activity. I applaud and am totally spoiled by this, by the way.

As a result of this, people now look down on bracelets that do not come with this easy micro-adjustment to the perfect fit. I stress perfect. You're extremely likely to be able to size the GM bracelet in a way you are very happy with it. It's just that with the hidden clasp, I don't believe there are any micro adjustments, tool-free or otherwise, available. Much like the bracelet on my Seamaster GMT 50th Anniversary. You size it with links, and that's that.

It does seem, given the lack of even half-links, that a "little bit too tight or little bit too loose" situation is likely. Or should I find something else to worry about? Thanks.

It's on the way from the AD. When you get it, and have it sized, see what you think. Ponder about your wrist. Do you have a wrist that varies considerably through the day? Some people do, some don't. I do. However, I manage to find a spot with bracelets that don't adjust easily that works. I've got straps where I've had to add an extra hole to get the fit I wanted.

Anyway, my point is that if you can't size it to your liking, hand it back right there and say it won't work for you and look for different watch. Given the high marks the watch gets, I doubt that will be the outcome, but it's your watch and you need to be happy with it.

I couldn’t get a perfect fit with the Globemaster bracelet, but the real issue with it in my opinion is the weight. It is a HEAVY bracelet with a cumbersome butterfly clasp. Complaints aside, though, it’s a great watch with a stunning dial.

So ---- a less than perfect fit? How's that working out?

It slides around a bit on my wrist which can be annoying. The Omega alligator strap with the deployant clasp would probably have been a better choice.

I don’t know with this particular globemaster but some managed to have an adjustable clap being installed on their OEM bracelet, precisely some speedys and PO or other models.
I don’t know to which width the bracelet tapers on the globy, but I would explore this option as well.

I haven't seen that done on a Globemaster, but I'm one of those who has done it on a Speedy bracelet. Great mod.

I haven't had any real problems with mine. It was a bit snug when I first got it in March 2020, but one night I was scrutinizing it and discovered I'd missed taking off the inside tape on half of it. Boy, did I feel silly. After that it was a smidgen looser.

I will say that I didn't have to remove any links from the Globey's bracelet as I did for my Speedy Pro and my PO.

I ordered it in with both bracelet & strap. I would, of course, like both to fit well.

Mine was a good fit straight out of the box. My wrist is approx 7.25 inch which seems to be considered a standard size.

Mine arrived today. Stunning! And fits beautifully. I'm wondering, however, what is the card like piece on the left side of the box under the flap. Anybody?

Sorry for the terrible quality. In first pic you can see the tag end of the ribbon you pull up. What pops out is the card like piece seen in pic 2 & 3. Nowhere can I find what it's purpose is and was hoping other Globemaster owners might know or have a theory. Odd that Omega would include something without saying what it is. Note the cloth bag on the right side.

Apparently I can only do one pic. You can see the ribbon that pulls out the card like piece. A nice cloth bag is in the third spot to the right past where the watch goes. Hope you get the idea.
