Girard Perregaux 6558N Vintage Waterproof 37mm Chronograph *PRICE DROP*

Background
Next in the great consolidation of 2022 is this banger of a nicely sized jumbo GP Chronograph!
Have only seen these about 2 or 3 times. There's one currently on chrono24 for an eye watering price
Worn on rotation about 1-3x/month.

• Girard Perregaux 6558N
• Circa late 1950s or early 1960s I reckon
• Two register chronograph
• Movement: GP0409 manual wind movement (based off Excelsior Park)
• Case size (without crown): 37mm
• Case + crystal thickness: 11.7mm
• Lug width: 20mm
• Comes with this lovely black stitchless pigskin strap

Service
Serviced early 2021 by Shuck The Oyster from whom I purchased it.

Condition report (pictures also form part of the description)

• The matte black dial is in fantastic condition
• Hour, minute, chronograph and subdial hands are all in pretty good condition with minor blemishes
• Crystal is clean with microscratches from usual wear
• Case is decent condition though I can't bet my life it is 100% unpolished, the lugs retain its facets quite nicely.
• There is a small divot on the periphery of the case just above the 9 o'clock marker
• Manual wind is crisp and paradoxically buttery smooth to wind up
• Chronograph starts, stops and resets perfectly
• Keeps time well though I have not regulated it while in my possession
