Just asking for some advice/thoughts on this GMT that is up for auction and finishing soon. It is on eBay but the seller has postage as pick up only so not sure how that will effect the end price.

Serial is around 1.1millon, placing it around 1965-66. Dial + Hands looks original (please correct if wrong). I don't think the bezel insert is original?

What are your thoughts on case condition - has it been recut? or are these the original champhers.

Personally I don't think ill be bidding , but always keen to learn about these older models so that in the event something pops up I know when to buy!

Insert looks abit off. Not a GMT expert, but keen to learn from the rest as well

 

Case looks original and fat.

 

Would like to see better pics of lug holes and crown guards.

 

IMO, glass and insert have been changed.
I would have expected no Stainless Steel between the lugs. Lumes are quite fat.
Here is an original one to compare.

 

Here is one I sold last Summer. Insert on the one on ebay looks off. Case looks good! Crystal looks off to me too. Hands look alright

 

Case looks good, insert looks a later one to me. Should be a red back insert.
