New to the forum. My grandfather gave me this watch, pics below. I was wondering if anyone knew the model and the era? Thanks, I apperciate it.
The bracelet's gotta go..it'll be chewing it's way through the lugs. It's quite a nice period one though.....I don't think it's original to the watch. It's a quite a minimalist dial design..reminds me a bit of some late 60's dynamics I've seen. By the looks of the bubbling marks from 10-12 on the patina I'd say some moisture might have got in there at some point. We really need to see the movement and the ref number on the inside of the back plate. The SS case still looks sharp and cool..don't think it's been polished. I've going for the 64-69 era. Others will be able to tell you a lot more. Nice gift to get....does it still run? It'll need a revision in any case.
Thank you foe the response. The watch runs when wound. The only issue is that the hands get stuck on the 3 snall jewels on the top. A jewler said the diamonds need to be set back. The case says 14k. Aside from the jewles stopping the hands, it runs perfect, from what the jewler told me. I put more pictures below. I dont know how to take the case off and dont want to injure the watch, perhpas later ill look up how to and post that picture. Thanks again.
I couldn't find a model number, but it appears to be a part of the Omega Museum collection produced in the 60's/70's. Here's a couple of listings for this model: eBay auctionPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Malleries
Its a reference D6672, ca mid 1960s through early 70s. This was a US market watch and came with many different dials and utilized the caliber 620 17-jewel movement later versions used the cal 625.
Probably released in response to the popularity of the Movado Museum........ (housing a Zenith movement)
