This DRSD (mk3 dial) has spent many years in the West Australian sun. The original owner was a farmer and this was his 21st birthday present. It is thoroughly enjoyed by its new doting owner as it fades to grey.
No period correct old hands in my parts box I'm afraid as I wasn't intending on buying another 861 but when I saw it I couldn't resist. A square end chrono hand would be correct anyway and I believe the modern service items have the same proportions so I may opt for having some service hands artificially aged at service. I think the rear drop chrono hand that's on there is the slightly shorter service type but I'm sure it will come in handy at some point.
I could live with the drop end if there wasn't one to hand (no pun intended) but the MKII hands jump out at you. The I've no doubt it'll be a cracker after a service, even if the hands are new and aged to match.
My entry is a -69 Speedy delivered to Switzerland (what an exciting trip that must have been....) Depending on the light the grey turns blue
Not only ghost. I’ve yet to see another bezel with the same rehaut font on a SAAF (I have seen one on a RAAN...if only I could find it again)
I’m pleased to share my 105.012 from 1965 here, with special thanks to the OP for sending it my way. Cheers, -GW
2010 Planet Ocean 2500, fading nicely. I never realize how faded it is until I wear it into an Omega shop and compare it to the bright new ceramic ones.
