If it's luminova, I don't think I'd have any concerns about sending it to Rolex. If the dial is tritium, I might think twice if I had a better option, but that's just me. Rolex may or may not require (mandatory) or suggest (as an option) replacing hands and/or dial. If so, you'll have a decision to make ... maintain originality or restore luminosity? If for some reason they decide that the replacement is mandatory, then you will either have to allow them to make the change, or take the watch back.
We have occasionally read threads where someone claims that a replacement was made by RSC without their approval. I suspect that these situations could arise when an AD is inserted into the process. So you should be especially careful if you lose track of the chain of communication and approval.
