Hello Horologists

This is advertised as "old new stock/as.new" from tbe 1970s. Too good to be true or a fake/replica?

Seller says everything is original except the strap.

Thank you,

M

I don’t think this is a replica - wouldn’t make much sense to produce one and then pick a ~300€-watch to copy.

If you’re interested in it, I’d ask the seller for pictures in natural light without any manipulation. This looks like there’s a filter on it.

“NOS” is also a bit optimistic, looking at the scratches on the out- and inside of the caseback. Condition is good, though.

I've checked the model number on the case and it coincide with the model; the serial number on the movement also matches the model year; to my eye, it visually matches. Anything else I should be looking at?

To me NOS would include the original unworn Omega strap and Omega buckle and possibly box and papers. IMHO, not NOS.

Agreed. It seems more like "almost new condition" as opposed to actually "new"

The price. What’s the asking, if you care to share? Also, even if the movement was in fact untouched since new, this would mean it hasn’t had a service in about half a century, so factor one in.

That's a great point actually. I hadn't thought of that. Price is not cheap, but "normal" for this locale. It's the equivalent of around $700.
