    Hi all.

I am a new Omega owner and would like to treat my watch to a service. It was serviced last May but I want to give it a clean bill of health.
    It's a 1970 Geneve cal 601.

Two questions. What should I expect to pay ( watch cost me £535) and can anyone recommend a good venue that perhaps you have used.

I live near Wolverhampton / Birmingham UK

    Many thanks everyone.

My question is: Why? If it was PROPERLY serviced last May, then what are you looking for? I don't see what you'd gain.

If you purchased it, with the seller saying that it was serviced then you should actually assume that it was not serviced (unless you REALLY trust the seller or if there is documentation).

The OP isn't as emphatic in the other thread he posted in. https://omegaforums.net/threads/newbie-question-calibre-601-how-to-wind.104282/#post-1374903

If service is 'alleged' better have a proper watchmaker to inspect it first and decide whether it was serviced or not. A redundant proper service would be pointless.

Although they’re relatively inexpensive to service, as a Geneve aficionado, I’d suggest that you wear and enjoy it for a few months and see if there are any mechanical problems that you might wish to have corrected or cosmetic improvements (new crystal, crown etc).

Good counsel. Sounds like a plan then.

I have a service card from the seller but I also have a PhD in Astro Physics that I printed off the Internet.

    A fake service card is going it a bit for a £500 601 ;)
