Hi,

I am wondering because maybe I missed something. Let’s see as an example Omega Constellation 167.005, I didn’t track price change recently but from what I remember last year this kind of watch with no pie pan dial cost around 1k-1.2k euro/usd, while when I’m checking it right now at chrono24 I can see ~2200 for one in good condition. Do you also feel like the price heavily increased recently? Or maybe my thoughts are just not correct but I was surprised. Steel version, photo as an example. So my final question is do you maybe track it a little bit more than me and can tell that the prices increased or those are just overpriced offers, but most of them are >2k, way more.

Dome dial dog leg Connie’s still sell for around that range as far as I’ve seen. Chrono24 prices are most likely way overpriced, and you’re better off looking at sold auction results for a fair value.

These are overpriced as they cost the same as pie pan models which are obviously more desired.

For me, around €1500 for a pie pan in fair-good condition. Paying above 2k for a non pie pan seems extremely high. I have seen several discussions on the higher prices. My recommendation is to import from Japan. The prices are more reasonable.

I've been looking at japanese auctions recently and they seem to go quite high priced imo like 900-1000eur in nice condition, if i add on the 22% tax for importing and other charges, then service its all of a sudden more expensive than just buying a serviced one in EU (or simply just on an auction they tend to go 1000-1300eur from what i've seen)

Where are you based? Maybe I can help you. I generally find better deals on fixed priced sales from private sellers.

If you can find one for €1500 serviced then it’s not bad. But remember that without a receipt and a recent service you can easily end up needing to pay again (say the watch is losing a few minutes a day).

Interesting that prices have flipped. I haven't really been following prices in Japan since "liberation day", but I generally recall that Constellations were disproportionately expensive in Japan compared to other models. But in the very recent past, it seems that the West is going crazy for Constellations.

I think this is the vintage Omega story of the year, TBH.
