I have an Omega Constellation C-Case 168.017 from 1966. I don’t wear the watch everyday, so I wind it when I don’t wear it so I don’t have to reset the time when I do.

I’ve noticed that when I wind the watch while it’s still ticking, I will gain/lose time. For example, 5 minutes slower or 20 minutes faster.

Does anyone know the reason for this?

Many thanks for any replies :)

Are you saying that in the few seconds that you are winding the watch using the crown, the hands can advance up to 20 minutes?

That makes no sense...please post a video of this happening.

Sorry I hope this makes more sense.

So I’ll wind the watch and put it back in my draw, the time stays the same. I’ll come back say 6 or so hours later, and the time will have advanced/dropped.

Not sure ... I took the watch to a watchmaker to get one of the gaskets changed, and he said it was keeping good time. Might be due for one! Thank you for your response.
