Hello & thank you for accepting me to the forum.

I was given this watch by a friend whose father was a scrap dealer after ww2 and he has had it since his father died in the 1960's.

It has an inscription inside that reads
"From Mother to Robert 20/09/14.
Which seems to suggest it was a going off to War gift.

I have a couple of questions, What would this have cost in 1914 & going by the number stamped in the case
(4822102) what would the year of manufacture be.
I look forward to all replies & thought's.

Going by the case number I'd say about 1910.

It was purchased from here.

I actually live in Wagga Wagga so know the store well, for as long as I can remember it's been called Hunter's on the Hill.

I dropped in there one day and showed them.

For historical reasons, really shouldn't have wasted my time.
