Need a little bit of help picked this up this week but incorrect hands

Are the correct hands nearly impossible to obtain?

I just picked one of these up that was for sale on the forum. The hands on yours look different to mine and the ones I’ve seen (I don’t have it in hand yet).

Yours has a brushed finish on the case that I haven’t seen in other examples - I wonder if that is original to the watch - it certainly looks that way. The ones I’ve seen seem to have a polished finish.

Mind sharing some other angles (sides and caseback)?

I would think the hands would be hard to find. The watches are not very expensive so I doubt people are parting them out. Maybe you can buy the worst complete watch you can find, but I imagine that would still run at least a few hundred bucks?

Your best bet is to pick one up that is battered and cheap / with a good set of hands. Keep the movement for parts

 

Thanks for posting these! Personally, even though the minute and hour hands appear to not be original to the watch I think they look great and would probably not go to the trouble of sourcing new ones.

 

With some patience you'll get a donor for around $100. I think I got my complete one with a broken stem for around €80.

 

It's only my opinion but I think that one has been re-finished.

Ok. It might just be the angle but it looks like the subdial is not centered. The 11 is closer to the marking than the 1. The 5 is covered by the subdial but not the 7. Looks like the paint on top ofthe two and three is also off centered. The G is off in Geneve. It might have just been touched up. Sorry.

Was just looking at the thread R3D9 referred to and there appears to be a lot of variations in the dials like yours. Impressive.
