·SOLD is my very tidy Benrus Type 2. This watch is intact, complete, and almost entirely original. The crystal was replaced by the previous owner with an IWW reproduction and the stem was replaced with a NOS unit. Other than that, it is original.
The watch is in very nice condition. There are some scratches on the crystal (put there by the last owner), but otherwise the condition is quite sound. The bezel is very clear and has no cracks or other issues. The case is in delightful shape. The dial and hands have a lived-in look. Neither pristine, nor trashed. The watch glows quite happily for a short time after exposing to UV.
The movement was serviced about 6 or 7 years ago according to the person I bought the watch from, a well-known collector of military pieces and a person of good repute. I've only owned it since October and have worn it two or three times to find that it is a solid timekeeper. Hence my comfort saying that the watch has no known mechanical issues.
This watch comes on a custom-made shell cordovan (Horween, of course) one-piece strap. The strap has an extra-long tail for folding back and re-tucking into the shell keeper and is ideal for the 7 - 7.5 inch wrist. It only has four holes in it, and I'd be happy to add some more to custom-size it to your wrist.
For non-hagglers, I will also happily build a different custom shell strap if the one on the watch is not to your taste.
$1350 USD shipped and PayPaled in the US for this very solid and tidy example. If you've never had one of these, you should know that these watches make excellent daily wearers. I am always surprised by the weight and presence of these watches. Truly a delight to own and wear.
