Jeez two killer posts from you @SeaMSTR !
Love the Square. I too have wondered about going the air route, but honestly I think I'm going to knock out some body work next.
She rusty.

Ahh, fortunately mine is a Californian import, so was largely rust free. I’ve done too many jobs to remember on it! The beam im fitting is a ‘Dogback’ air bag beam. Great quality, really nicely engineered. Recently fitted some ISP West camping hinges, so the back seat folds flat, allowing you to sleep in it. Here are some more pics, if you’re interested..

Love my Golf, but HATE the shift knob. Plastic and surprisingly square. Not sure why the ditched the classic golf ball knob of the past generations.
Anyway, plan to fix that this weekend…

One, you do not live where it gets hot.

Two, I drove an MK 8 Golf R DSG today and it’s a very confusing car with interesting choices.

Florida, so yeah lol. I’ll manage.
I’ve been quite happy with the MK8.
That’s not to say the cockpit did not take a little getting used to. But after living with it for a bit I quite like it.
I have had a MK7 and MK6 previously and it’s leagues ahead in my opinion.
I could still use a couple knobs instead of haptics, but overall I’m pleased.

I just got done putting the new knob in.

Drove it to the office today for the first time.
Slight shimmy at 70mph, but other than that nice and tight.

I went to BugJam at SantaPod (uk) last weekend. Squareback performed well with its new air ride. Pictured with my friends 1968 panel van and another friend’s Splitty.

I need to get mine outside for a drive. I haven't started it in over a month.

Forward thinking by the driver of the blue Combi....mounting that bicycle to the back, he'll need it when the Combi shits itself or he needs to get somewhere fast! 🤣

Just sitting all alone.

If you buy one here, they make you buy a Porsche Design watch as well. Not kidding, the sale of the car is dependent upon your purchase of the watch.

If I can get one without allocation at MSRP I'll buy as many watches as they want! lol
Well...to a point I guess hah.

I had a test drive in the new M3 today. It had racing carbon seats that were too small for this fat fella to fit in properly. I knew it, the salesman knew it, even the other people in the show room knew it. Cool car built for a younger audience.

Good lord so much want.
I'm sure you could spec it without the buckets though...

The interesting part was its second hand value, about €25k under list. Then I drove the M8 Competition which was sex on 4 wheels and was so close to buying until they lowballed me on my car, then my phone rang, unknown number “Hello, this is Rolex, we have your Starbucks” so I am wearing a new watch 😂

Dang guy you are out here shopping M3 wagons and getting calls from Rolex?!
That is straight up fantasy land for me! 🤣
I guess I'll just keep driving my glorified Golf and wearing an old Tutor and going on about my day haha.

It's mad and not at all how the day was planned. I brought my car for some warranty work and while hanging around ended up test driving the M3 and M8. If they had been reasonable with my trade in they might have had a deal but the stars didnt align.

As far as the Rolex goes, I wasn't even on the list for a Starbuck, it was for a Hulk and from many moons ago. The lady told me she has to call 5-10 people now when pieces turn up as the flipper market has cooled down. I am not complaining 😀

Well maybe I'll get a call for my Polar Explorer 2!
Won't hold my breath....
I'd honestly probably pass on it at this point in time anyway.
Bought that dumb Land Rover instead!

I would take the Landrover over the explorer 2 any day.

A friend had one 25+ years ago and the seats were so comfortable you felt like you were sinking into them.
