Reminds me of when I was looking at a Fiat Spyder and the salesman just wouldn't let up on the sales pitch even after I showed him that the pedals were so small and close together that I couldn't press on one without pressing on the one next to it. That was a stupid design. Made I suppose for pointy toed Italian shoes. Another I looked over, don't remember the title, had the roof so low it had blisters for the driver and passengers heads. I suppose that was so they could wear helmets but I barely had headroom even with a ball cap.
Sold my 1974 Merc 450SL roadster and it is going to be on display at the Automobile Gallery in Green Bay... So now I’ve got something in a museum, a little surreal maybe but I’ll post some pictures from the unveiling. Well couldn’t go roadsterless for too long so bought this... A 2006 Z4 3.0si with premium and sport package and only has just under 40k miles on it. One of only a few real modern roadsters being made today. So really looking forward to the warmer weather!!!
I always knew these had a lot of ride height but damn that looks like you could fit your head between the wheel arch and the type
Ooooh....brings back some memories. A friend of the family imported one of these black beauties into Canada in 1980. He was a bit of a shady character so the allure of the car was even bigger for the teenage boys in the neighbourhood. First Ferrari I rode in, first Ferrari that I sat in the driver’s seat admiring the gated shifter and wondered about pedal placement and what heel-and-toe shifting was all about. Glorious sounding car. Sadly the owner banged it up and sold it rather than repair the body work.
Now that there's no further need for my 'daily' to be used for driving lessons, runs to the supermarket when something was forgotten etc. as son and heir now has his own runaround, I've gone completely impractical but just the way I like it with a new Abarth 595 Competizione. The noise is fabulous, 180bph standard from 1.4L with Garett turbo, and with only 1,100 kg to push it is the embodiment of phrase "pocket-rocket"! Making up for the foolish decision a few years back to sell my 1969.5 Dodge A 12 Superbee which was last car to put a smile on the dial..
Weren't there other cars of the same era that had to have ride height raised to meet new US headlamp height regulations? I am thinking MGB and Lotus Europa here.
A local dealership received a huge shipment of Subaru cars many years ago. These did not pass the USA tail light requirements. Rather than shipping them back to Japan they just fed these brand new cars into the crusher. A pitiful sight.
Clocked two unusual motors today, sorry not able to take photos. Jaguar XK140 in the center of Bury St.Edmunds trailing a distinct odour of burnt oil and a Triumph Stag outside the village convenience store.
hopefully more than just virtual........ here's a couple of pics from our local version: March 10, 2020, show terminated day 2 for lockdown
this guy's car was in a photo shoot for Tag Heuer. He got the meet Jack Heuer. Apparently Jack is a car guy. Who knew?.. 50th anniversary 911 dash clock Carlisle PA USA today
Will not be able to post on Friday, but I wanted to share some cool photos taken by a good friend of mine last weekend. Photoshoot with the http://www.classic9.no/ vintage Porsche dealer in Oslo: View attachment 1215568
