Im looking for a 944s .. not the same range haha

Try to find a clean Turbo.
These things are due to starting rising in value in the near future.

I agree the Turbo look a little bit better.... but Turbo/S2 are already out of budget for me 🙁 ... but 944S is actually quite interesting in term of production number (around 7K for the 944s around 17K for the turbo)

Rally drivers, to this day, IMHO, have the biggest balls of all.....

Flat out....no matter the road conditions......skills to kill for!

Also note the Can-Am drivers from the 1970s. Big block motors, airfoil body, minimal crash protection. Everything was a guess back then as far as aerodynamics. Our forefathers raced for glory with little to no money. A good book to read is “Go like Hell”. It’s a story about Shelby versus Ferrari and how their were many unknowns about how to go faster.

Also- Isle of Mann bike racers. Nutty.

You're right Steve about the Can-Am. I loved it at the time and still today consider several of the machines amongst the greatest-looking race cars of any era. One of my favourite books is:

the photography is fantastic. Although I am hopelessly Porsche-addicted, I do regret that the Marque effectively killed off the 'proper' Can-Am with the 917/30KL. If you want to learn more you can't beat Pete Lyons, at https://www.petelyons.com/index

Mmm CH-R's...can't go wrong.
P.S. an 88 E30 M3 in Alpine White is on my car bucket list...along with a 95 E36 in the same color hah.

In an automatic(tiptronic)? Its like kissing your sister if it does not have a locking torque converter, if it is a DSG or SMG a pretty nice thing to have.

DSG it’s a dual clutch Audi. SMG is race cars some BMW M’s some Ferrari and Lamborghini.

Similar results with pro and cons to each system. dial clutches are heavier and can’t take as much load normally, while SMG is lighter ( it’s a manual gear box) and not as smooth.

Dial clutches... well the easiest way to explain it is 2 gearboxes which preselects the next gear with even gears in one and odd gears in the other.

Both systems are significantly different from an automatic or tiptronic which are the same but use a torque converter instead of a clutch.

A DSG in auto mode feels almost exactly like an automatic.

SMG and DSG in manual modes allow you to transmission brake which when driving hard or on a track is a huge bonus.

I'm 99.9% sure I'll be buying another GTI, or maybe even a Golf R (when the next generation comes out) and I'm really considering going to the DSG...
If I end up with the R I think it will more than likely be a DSG, but if I buy another GTI I would probably stick with the 6 speed.
Assuming they still offer it 🙄.
My current GTI is M/T and I enjoy it, even in my daily stop and go traffic.
But I just don't know...
