So is this the Grandfather of the Legend?
    Or the original Legend?
My fave car when I was growing up, this example of the 3.0 CSL lightweight E9 is currently for sale at 150,000 Euro. If only...

I started working for BMW in 1971. It's difficult today to adequately express how exciting cars like the CSL, 2002tii and 3.0Si were to drive, both in the context of the times and also in absolute terms. I've driven quite a few BMWs since I moved on to Alfa Romeo in '79, and, generally, I've respected them for their quality and capabilities, but they have not thrilled me and they have none of the road presence that 'your' CSL displays, so resplendent in Taiga, despite its wonky bumper! (A CSL looks rather fine in Inka too . . . and Golf, and Polaris and Chamonix and . . .)

Hey! Apologies, didn't see your post till today. I bought it after cross-shopping and test driving 2018 versions of the S5, M440i xdrive, C43 AMG 4matic, Golf R, IS350AWD, Q50&60 Redsport etc...I' sure you can see a pattern there.

At the end, the Stinger just ticked all the right boxes for me. Do the Germans make a more refined vehicle? Yes....but when similarly spec'd not CAD 20k more worth to me, and that is not even considering taxes, maintenance costs etc. The Stinger makes me smile, and doesn't burn a hole in my wallet. It doesn't feel or drive like the usual Kia at all; and for context I've owned (among others) a '01 LR Disco II, '01 X5, '15 Kia Forte Koup and driven a few nice cars during my work trips across Europe, Africa, The Middle East and Singapore.

I say take it for a test-drive when you're bored, I hope you'll be pleasantly surprised, as most of my friends did after they drove mine!

Little effort required and the muck just drops off without any rubbing and hazing of the paintwork.

Here's my winged wonder... I bought a fully stripped "project" 3.0 CS and tweaked it into a CS/CSL "hotrod", running a 3.5 liter euro L Block motor with triple Weber DCOE's, dogleg 5 speed and other goodies.

    Mmmmm nice!

And not worth crazy money, so you can enjoy it, which clearly you are.
