Thanks for the new background! lol

And that 919 run is nuts.
Going to have to set aside 5 min 19 sec a little bit later to watch that in-car.

I knew opening this thread was going to be a mistake. I had intended to get some yard work done today.....now, I think I will do a little road work....

First day/night HPDE at Circuit of the Americas this evening. Almost time to turn on the headlights.

So which vehicle do you have the pleasure of whipping around COTA?

On “bring your own” days like this, either my Miata or our Cayman S if I can prise the keys from the wife; but I instruct with several “supercar experience” groups as well as the Audi school at COTA, so I have also had the pleasure of giving rides in 488, 458, 430, Huracan, Gallardo, MP4-12C, 570S, GT3, 911 Turbo, Cayman R, R8 V10 (regular and plus), RS3, TT-RS, and GT-R.

Oh, and I drove a student’s F430 Scuderia Spyder once when his wife wanted to ride along but the organizers wouldn’t let students take passengers. That thing was sweeet.

For visceral experience, the F430 Scud - with the air intakes right behind your head, the sound was just freakin' awesome.

For pure driving fun, I haven't spend enough time in the 570S to form a proper opinion, so at this point my favorite to is the GT3. The more exotic cars are great, but they tend more towards comfort and showiness than actual driving dynamics. As I tell my customers, Porsche is a sports car manufacturer, and the GT3 is the car that they build as a weekend track toy; it's the sharpest tool in that box IMHO.

At the other extreme, the Gallardo is living proof that Lamborghini started out manufacturing tractors. 😀

I've never been able to take Lambo seriously. Except the Huracan Performante is supposed to be quite good...so I've read.
I'm a Porsche guy...so I will agree with you there even though I have NOT been able to drive some of the cars you have hah (including a GT3).

Except...
