Hi there,
It seems that we are many French in OF and thought it would be helpful to share ours trustful watchmakers located in France.

Indeed, I’m still looking for great address to service my vintage Connie.

do you have some address, south of France or elsewhere?

Even if it will mainly interest french members, I’ve decided to write in English in order to keep it comprehensive by everyone!

Several years ago, I exchanged PMs with an expat Canadian who lives in southern France. His user name was Horlogerie, and his first name is Rob. Unfortunately, he appears to have vanished from the MB. I’ll keep trying, and see if I can dig up his info.

I think Rob kind of disappeared from public view, which is a shame as he’s great to work with. He still does repairs and servicing as far as I know, but I think he gets enough business from his existing customer base. Certainly it’s hard to find his websites anymore.

His name is Robert Horan and he is a Member of the British Horological Institute.
He trades as Montres International and is located in Mainzac.
I can vouch for him personally.

Didn’t work for me either.
This is what I mean... I think he’s stepped back from taking on new business. I know he’s still working as he does watches for a forum friend, but I’m not sure how easy it would be to organize if you’ve not worked with him before.

I think Rob has stepped back somewhat but still takes some work. We haven't been in touch for a year or so, however, the number above is available openly on the internet. I think it would be far better to contact him by email (also available openly) and that is:

[email protected]

Regards, Chris

Indeed, last serviced was done there for mine from previous owner, great work and availability, but has too much polished the Connie, maybe it was ask by the previous owner, don’t really know...

Hello OF members,

I am quite new to OF and being French I am looking for some trusted watchmakers in the south of France (in PACA between Marseille and Nice).
I recently came in the possession of 2 vintage Omega Seamasters and would like to find a good watch repair shop to restore/service them.

Browsing through the Forum I found that this guy is trusted but is based in Paris:

Searching on my own I found these guys, did some of you go through them ?

Thank you for your feedback !

In Paris I used and really like Dominique, the watchmaker at l’Atelier du Bracelet Parisien Place du Marche Saint Honore.

-Francois Cheanne, rue Gay Lussac Paris 75005- other watchmakers say he’s very good, reluctant to fix damaged movements for customers who don’t understand what’s involved.

-My watchmaker no longer wants to do routine services, he’s only interested in intractable problems everyone else has failed to resolve, or in crazy electro-mechanical movements. He doesn’t want me to pass on his name, send me a pm if you really need.

St Honore sounds like a pricey location for a watch maker...

Doesn’t mean anything, he was much cheaper than the one in the 13th arrondissement who charged my mother 300 euros for servicing my grandfather’s hand wound 1960s Omega watch which he never wore, and replaced the gold crown without giving it back.
