Hey guys,

I would like to share my recent "discovery" with you. Those who are familar with the brand Enicar, maybe heard that Alain Delon, the famous French actor and counterpart to Steve McQueen, was wearing an Enicar Ultra Dive at the movie "Les Aventuriers" from 1967.

A bit of research on hundreds of pics (well felt like thousands and my world is black and white know 😁 ) shows that Delon liked the watch longer than the filming of the movie. So I found great pics showing him (and the Ultra Dive) together with Charles Bronson, Romy Schneider and from his private live.

Funny part is that Delon sold all his watches in a 2012 auction. One watch that I couldnt find in the catalog was his Ultra Dive. I like the Idea that this is the watch, he was not ready to part with haha.

A bit more text and a lot more pics you will find at my lates blog post at Enicar101.com

Thanks for sharing this interesting and new to me watch.

Looks like it would wear large. That white bezel against the black dial also shrinks it. I like it. Looks very legible. The steel bezel really nicely offsets the rest.

The case is great, unusual at least to my knowledge. The lugs kindof remind me of a speedy that have been untwisted. Of course can't miss the crown guards. On paper i would not have guessed that such a big guard would work but this really looks great. Perfect for a dive watch.

Even the date is balanced and fits in.

Enicar strikes again! Nice pickup. The pictures are catnip.

Thanks again.

The Diameter of the watch itself without the crownguard is 40mm. The crownguard pushes it to 43mm at the right side, but all in all, it wears like a 40mm watch if you ask me 😉

Here some more shots of the watch on an Uncle Seiko Flatlink. Gladly the radius at the lugs of the Enicar Compressor watches is the same as the one on the Speedmaster 😀

I knew this all the time😉

He is for the french like Jean Connery for the Brits.
I think if a french guy would had created "James Bond" or in french probably "Jean Jacques Blanc", Alain Delon had be the perfect actor for this role.

But anyway the Enicar is a killer watch and stands very high on my wish list🥰

Thats most likely 😁 But I think he made the best out of his career. In Europe, everyone knows him, at least from the name.

Happy hunting, here and there you still find nice examples. Just be careful with the bezels, 70% of them have heavy patina. Looks like the top laquer wasnt very good.

Here we have another fan of the ultradive. I have to admit, I like his taste in watches more than his music 😉

I was curious where the Delon (the real one 😉 ) Ultradive went, since Alain auctioned all his watches some years ago. The only watch that was not in that auction was the Enicar. Turned out, his son Anthony, got the watch and like to wear it occasionally. I love that Alain gave the watch and especially this watch to his son.

I’ve never come across these but they are really nice looking watches and, like the great AD, I always wear my jean jackets with the collar up 😉
