Late entry. Thanks @DaveK for reaching out last fall. I had “shut her down” for a while.

Last December, my jeweller was expecting two watches back from his watchmaker. My 5513 and a two tone Sub that had been totally restored for a grieving widow’s son. (And I must say, the restoration was amazing!).

I was a bit worried about having my watch shipped just before Christmas and offered to do the drive to pick the two watches up.

Mine was preserved as is (I was threatening broken knee caps daily) and the two tone returned in a Rolex case.

This inspired me to make some cases. Similar, but better! I made a bunch, but now I realize that I need to keep my watches in alphabetical order, otherwise I need to open each case to select a watch. The cases are perfect for bracelet watches. Strap watches sit lower with the ends towards the top.

So, who wants a free case? I am giving out the best four. Please consider a donation to a local charity of your choice upon receipt.

I will check my messages later and ship next week. Watches not included!

Excellent stuff and a great way to give to the community while hopefully we (the community) give back to others as well! 👍

Packages are ready to go but my workplace has suffered a COVID outbreak. I tested negative last week, as did some of my colleagues. But some are now testing positive just a few days after their initial tests.

So I am staying home. Will ship once I know I can safely leave the house and not infect anyone.

Four packages to the US and one to the UK. I bet the UK package will get there sooner if things are like last year.

Attached are photos of the packages, ready to go. And a few of my recent baseball straps, all spoken for and made to fit friends of various sizes!

Snow is melting here in Canada!

Note: When new straps are available they are at the end or near the end of this thread.

I make these straps purely as a hobby, so there are no strings attached and no hidden agenda here.

Once you get your strap, post a photo of it here, and if you are inspired, make a small donation to your favorite cause (homeless shelter, animal shelter, church, etc...) no need to divulge how much you donated, but it would be nice to know who benefitted.

To make the straps I used the palm piece of an old Cooper Weeks (company name until 1971, so a pretty old piece of leather) glove. It has taken quite a patina and is extremely soft.

The straps are lined with new leather and are not perfect. If you are looking for perfection, buy one from a pro. I have been making these for quite a few years now, and this is simply my way of relaxing. So...here are a few photos. You will see that there are five straps. I have numbered them from 1 to 5. 1 and 2 are 20mm with 18 mm buckle end; 3 to 5 are 18 mm with 16 mm buckle end.

Instructions...

1) Send me a PM with your choice 1 to 5. I will respond tomorrow. I will ship to you once I punch the holes...
2) If you get one, I will ask that you post here (I will send you a pic to post) so that we know it is no longer available.
3) Once you receive your strap, post a photo of it with your watch and if you made a donation to one of your local organizations or charities, let us know. We don’t need to know the amount.

Again, no hidden motive here, other than knowing that most of us on this forum are or appear to be doing well. I will gladly change the caption of this thread if any of you wish to join in with other ideas to spread a bit of positive energy around the world...
I missed this when it came out. Very very cool!!!

I was able to score one of the world renowned @Duracuir1 watch holders. Hand made by top Canadian artisans it is well worth the cost (50 dollar donation to a homeless shelter in the midst of expansion and half a day helping to sanitize the local food bank) I added in the manual labor as I give regularly to the shelter I felt like I’d be cheating if I didn’t add something. So any well very well made, comes in very handy, will be great for travel if we ever do that type of thing. Very nice all around.

Canada is matching donations to the Red Cross. I will ship these anywhere, however, and donating to your favorite cause is optional. As before, consider posting a photo when you attach your watch to it. I will put finishing touches on these Monday and ship to you. PM me if you are interested. Remember to not expect perfection…

You say don’t expect perfection they look pretty much perfect to me. I will sit this one out but I can attest to the quality of @Duracuir1 fine leather goods. My people will be contacting you shortly as I would like to commission a special project from you.
