@Duracuir1 Can I ask, have you ever made straps from a boxing glove - I can imagine it being tricky for various reasons, I suppose.

@140dave I have the day off and was hoping for a nice long bike ride. Rain instead. So I made you a replacement strap. Nice glove piece (glove pictured earlier in this thread, I think). I tried to replicate the original that I sent you. Quite frankly this one is softer and feels nicer. I used the glove’s leather lacing to make the keepers. I am using the best of the best this time to ensure delivery! You may notice that the “twin” piece is darker than the “flex”. That’s how the glove aged.

Watch not included...
So cool with the inscriptions 👍

It’s taken me a while to donate to a good cause for my lovely strap I was kindly made.

Partly due to being busy and partly due to not knowing exactly who to give to.

Today it was clear, I donated to the Lebanese Red Cross, and urge others to do the same in light of the tragic explosion that occurred there yesterday.

Thank you again @Duracuir1 more people like you are needed in this world!

Take care guys and stay safe!

Great work....and a nice way to repurpose a baseball glove. Would be interesting to see some other leathers used....like maybe an old motorcycle jacket or cowboy boots? In any case cheers for such a cool idea and worthy way to support good causes.

This is an excellent idea, and made me go to the local UK website to make a donation specifically for the Beirut appeal. I spent a fantastic weekend in Lebanon two years ago, flying into Beirut, driving up and spending the day in Byblos, and then the next day in the Bekaa Valley and and incorporating a visit to Balbek, and I encountered nothing but good natured friendliness wherever I went. The people of Lebanon have had a rough ride for decades. I hope this is a catalyst for things to get better.

I was in this port only last August and I agree with your sentiment, of those Lebanese people that I have known all have been wonderful people. With all of the troubles that the country is already suffering from, a government in shambles and a failing economy - not to mention the rise of covid-19 cases this is just another blow for the country. It’s a catastrophe made even worse by the timing. 135 reported dead so far... thank you for donating!

@OllieOnTheRocks inspired me to make a few more. Here are four. One is for @Syrte and sized just right (I hope, remember this is a hobby). You may get a kick out of number 4. Not sure how it will perform, but it looks cool and parts of it have seen the laundry machine!

Send me a message. If you get one, post it here when it arrives and consider a donation to your favorite cause.

ipad is pooched, so iphone it is. The pics will be all shuffled, most likely, as I sometimes experience when I post with the phone.
