I've been working the last few months for a UK based company with a non-British, international audience - everything is in International English - so suspect that's what's going on here too.
I die inside a little, each time I have ti put a Z where an S should be.

I feel your pain, I think it’s incumbent on us to push back on International (bastardised) English and I am trying to reclaim the Middle East for the English language .😀
if I’m asked to prepare or review a tender document for issue (docs often hundreds of pages long that get regurgitated on project after project ) I’ll make sure I correct labor, color, center etc. and all the Zs.
Canute springs to mind but I just can’t put my name to a doc that’s not actually written in English.
